The Adirondack Region of
Upstate New York encompasses 6 million acres of land,
approximately 1/5 of the entire state! Nearly 1/2 of the
Adirondack State Park has been designated as "forever
wild". This land will remain in its natural state, never
to be developed. The Adirondacks also boast over 100
mountains at least 3000 feet high. Two of the peaks, Mount
Marcy and Algonquin Peak, are over 5,000 feet high.
Nestled at the base of the Adirondacks you will find Lake
George. Known as "The Queen of the American Lakes" its
water is so clean it can be used for drinking water. Lake
George is approximately 32 miles long and is nearly 3 miles wide
and much of it has also been designated as "forever wild" land
